CHEAT AT SCRABBLE HELP

Scrabble Cheat is designed to help you while playing Scrabble tm, Words with Friends tm, or Wordfeud tm. These games cannot be played here, this tool only helps you find solutions for these games.

Starting a New Game

A new game is created automatically when visiting the Scrabble Cheat tool for the first time.  To clear the board and start a new game, click .  If you are logged in and have given your current game a name, the current game will be saved before the board is cleared. If you are not logged in the current game will be discarded and cannot be retrieved.

You must be logged in to save games. 

Select a Word List

Currently, SOWPODS, TWL '06 , and French (ODS5) are available for Scrabble. WordFeud and Words with Friends have separate word lists. Select the desired word list  from the drop down menu.

Enter Rack Letters

To find solutions for your rack letters, enter the letters in the text box labeled RACK and click Go.  Possible answers will be displayed to the right of the playing board. 


Tip: iPad and iPhone users, use two fingers to scroll through the list of answers. Preview the answer by touching the Score or Rank. Choose the desired answer by selecting the underlined link.

Sorting

The answer list can be sorted by clicking on the column name.

Enter Opponents Letters

Enter the opponents letters directly on the playing board.

If you are on a Desktop Computer:

Click on the desired board position and an arrow will appear indicating the direction, up or across, in which letters will be placed. Holding the SHIFT while entering letters will fore letters to be entered vertically, regardless of the direction of the arrow.

Letters may be removed using the backspace key. Hold the SHIFT key and BACKSPACE key simultaneously to delete vertically placed letters.

If the ENTER key is pressed while the cursor is on the board the current state of the game will be saved. Alternately, the Go button may be clicked to solve for the rack letters without saving the game, which is much faster.

A letter on the playing board can be designated as a blank by typing over the  letter with an asterisk (*) or a period (.). The color of the letter will change to red and the used letter board will be adjusted accordingly. 

If you are using Touch Screen device:

When using a supported touch screen device such as an iPad, iPhone, or Android phone, letters can be entered directly on the board by touching the square on the board where the first tile will be placed. The keyboard should appear and letters can be typed using the device's keyboard.

Alternate Text Entry Method

An alternative way to enter letters is to use a text entry box. To enable the text entry box, select 'Pop-up Text Entry' from the Settings menu. A text entry dialog will appear.
Enter the opponent's letters in the text box and click the right arrow to place the letters horizontally on the board. Click the down arrow to place the letters vertically on the board. Tip: If the user played a blank tile, enter that letter in UPPERCASE. Click the red 'X' to dismiss the text entry dialog without placing tiles on the board. Letters may be added directly on the board after dismissing the text entry dialog.

Correcting Mistakes

It is possible to remove the last word placed on the board by clicking the Undo button.

Two Panel/Three Panel

The left tabs that show the remaining letter count and the saved games can be group with the right tabs to reduce the required screen space as a convenience to users on small handheld devices such as phones, iTouch, or other small screen devices. Choose the desired number of panels and click "Apply & Save Settings".

Always Count Tiles

When checked, tile counts and the display of remaining tiles will update each time the board changes. If you find this is causing delays, disable this feature. When Always Count Tiles is not checked the remaining tile counts will only be recalculated when Go is clicked, or when an answer is placed on the playing board from the Moves tab on the right side.

Definitions

Word definitions will be displayed in the area below the playing board whenever the mouse hovers over a word on the board or on in the answer list.

Saving a Game

The playing board, rack, and word list are saved automatically when 'Go' is clicked. Games that have been given a name will also be saved automatically when a New Game is started or when an existing game is opened from the Games list.

You must be logged in to save more than one game. Click to save a game and give it a name.  The following dialog will appear:

     

Enter up to 10 letters or numbers to form a name. A name cannot exceed 10 characters in length. Click  to save the game. The new game will appear on the Games tab. Up to 20 games can be saved. Exceeding the 20 game limit will result in the oldest games being deleted automatically.

Click to cancel saving the game.

Retrieving a Saved Game

Games may be retrieved by either clicking and selecting the desired game from the drop down menu, or by simply clicking on the name on the Games tab.

Deleting Games

To delete a single saved game click on  , then select the game from the drop down menu. Click to delete the game. Once deleted, the game can no longer be retrieved.  Click to delete all the games.

Alternately, games can be deleted from the Games tab. Click the checkbox next to one or more games on the Games tab, then click the "Delete Selected" button.
