If you continue to have trouble you may need to adjust your privacy settings. Read about privacy settings here. How to Unblock Cookies
If you're not sure if cookies are working, you can test them here: Test Cookies

Some notes about cookies:

A cookie is a small piece of information that is stored on your computer by the website you're visiting. It is likely that you have hundreds of these on your computer.

Cookies can be used to track your activity. At wordplays, we use cookies to retain your login so your name can be put on the high score list, and so we know your position and scores for certain games.

There are a number of reasons why you may not be able to save cookies.

  1. If you're using Internet Explorer, you're privacy settings must be set to allow cookies. If you're visiting Wordplays directly, an attempt is made to send a "first party" cookie. If you're visiting our site through a portal such as Facebook, the cookies we send will be considered "third party" cookies. There's more on privacy settings and cookies here: Unblock Cookies.
  2. If you're using a firewall such as McAfee, Norton, or one of many others, your firewall may be blocking cookies.
  3. Your employer may block cookies.
  4. There are cases where you may have been able to sign-in in the past but you can no longer sign-in. This is probably due to a change related to items 1-3. However, for Microsoft Internet explorer users who have successfully signed in before but can no longer sign in, and have ruled out items 1-3 as the cause, read on. There is a case, although infrequent, where your cookie is written as wordplays.com. When you visit www.wordplays.com, the cookie stored as wordplays.com is correctly read. When the cookie is written back to your computer, it is stored as www.wordplays.com. The easiest way to resolve this issue is to delete both cookies and log in again. Reset the Sign-In Cookie

It is my experience that most cookie related problems are related to privacy settings in Internet Explorer. Switching to FireFox, where feasible, will resolve privacy related problems, as well as address the unusual behavior described in item #4 above.

TIP: Always access the Wordplays web site using http://www.wordplays.com, not http://wordplays.com
